I am trying to reduce the size of my yarn stash by making things! I had several skeins of Loops & Threads Dewdrops that I wanted to remove from my stash. I found a really simple ear warmer pattern by This Ninja Creates. One skein made one ear warmer, so I made several.
The Tools and Supplies
The following is a list of the supplies I gathered to make the ear warmers:
- Size N Hook
- Loops & Threads Dewdrops (Smoky Quartz)
- Loops & Threads Dewdrops (Pearl)
- Loops & Threads Dewdrops (Amethyst)
I think the Dewdrops yarn had been discontinued. I searched for the yarn on Michael’s website and I could not find a listing for it. I purchased the skeins a couple years ago and they were marked down for clearance.
Crocheting the Ear Warmers
The pattern was written with worsted weight yarn in mind. I modified the pattern slightly to accommodate the super bulky yarn. I chained 40 and repeated rows 2 and 3 once. This was a super easy project and each warmer took less than an hour to complete.
The Finished Ear Warmers
I am very happy with the results. I especially love the sequins in the Dewdrops yarn. It provides a nice sparkle touch. The warmers perform pretty well in the cool weather too!
I still have 4 skeins of Dewdrops remaining! I considered creating something different, but I think I will just make a few more ear warmers. Hopefully someone will want them!
